A man in his mid-20s was sent to hospital Friday evening with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Ottawa’s downtown core.
Ottawa police said a woman stabbed a man in the lower back at approximately 4:55 p.m. near the intersection of George and Dalhousie streets before fleeing the scene.
The man, who was visiting Ottawa with the Maranatha Conservative Mennonite Church, was sent to hospital in stable condition.
Police said the stabbing appeared to be unprovoked and random, and that, although there is no suspect in custody, the alleged stabber poses no risk to the public.
