A man is dead following a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a car on Highway 17 south of Cobden Wednesday.
A 51-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla died following the collision at about 10:10 a.m. with the 18-wheel truck, said Michael Nolan, paramedic chief for the County of Renfrew. The truck caught fire following the collision.
Nolan said the driver of the truck, a man in his 30s, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The identity of the man who died has not been released.
Renfrew OPP said the highway is closed in both directions between Foresters Falls Road and Chenaux Road. Detours are in place.
