Nepean Liberal candidate Chandra Arya is hosting a fundraiser that involves some star power from the glory days of past Liberal governments.
Arya will be joined by former deputy prime minister Sheila Copps for what is being billed as “an evening of food, drink and conversation” at his Nepean campaign headquarters on Sept. 4. In addition to being Canada’s first female deputy prime minister, Copps was also minister of the environment and Canadian heritage during her decade in the federal cabinet.
Tickets to the fundraiser for the former Invest Ottawa board member-turned-Liberal-candidate are $100.
It is one of only a handful of appearances Copps will be making on behalf of Liberal candidates in the 2015 election.
Nepean Conservative candidate Andy Wang also hosted a fundraiser recently that included his former boss and current Nepean-Carleton MP Pierre Poilievre and Calgary MP Jason Kenney. Guests to that event were asked for a minimum $50 donation.
