Provincial police want your help in finding the masked man who they say tried to grab a 12-year-old boy off the street in Calabogie late on Saturday afternoon.
The boy was riding his bicycle on Mill Street in the village 100 kilometres west of Ottawa when he saw a parked van, police say. The boy later told police that a man in black clothes wearing a ski mask opened the van door and said, “Come here.”
The boy didn’t want to go near the van. He said the man then got out of the van and put his hand on the boy’s shoulder.
The boy pulled free and escaped, riding home on his bike. He told police the van followed him for a short distance.
The suspect is described as five feet, 10 inches to six feet tall. He drove a black van with tinted windows and no licence plates, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
