Liberal challenger Steve MacKinnon opened his office in Gatineau riding by telling voters they would get around town more easily under a Liberal government.
Gatineau needs $1 billion worth of upgrades to infrastructure, mainly for transportation, he said Monday at his campaign office on Gréber Boulevard.
People in the riding are hungry for better public transit, he told supporters. They also want better roads, he said.
MacKinnon said Justin Trudeau’s promise to invest $125 billion over 10 years in infrastructure will boost economic development in the riding.
Westmount MP and former astronaut Marc Garneau also attended the event.
