Provincial police continue to investigate a single-vehicle crash Wednesday on Highway 401 near Prescott, south of Ottawa, that claimed the life of a 37-year-old New York City-area woman.
Police say the crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. when a 2012 Honda travelling eastbound went out of control and struck the Blue Church Road overpass in Augusta Township.
The car rolled several times and landed on its roof in the eastbound lane.
The victim was a passenger in the car. The driver, a man and a 68-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital in serious condition.
All three were from East Quogue, on Long Island in New York City.
Police have not released the victims’ identities.
