Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in connection with an attempted sexual assault of a teenaged girl in the city’s south end last week.
Police say that last Thursday, Sept. 3, a 16-year-old girl was walking on McCarthy Road near Twyford Street when a man grabbed her by the hair from behind and attempted to sxually assault her.
The victim fought back, striking the suspect, and she was able to flee.
Police described the suspect as 20-25 years of age with black scruffy hair, about six feet to six-feet-two inches tall with a thin build, with a medium complexion, “possibly of Middle Eastern” descent.
He was wearing a Barcelona soccer jersey with a white collar and dark pants.
