Ottawa paramedics were called to a gas station in Cumberland this morning after a worker was badly burned while cutting metal.
According to paramedics, the man, 34, was cutting metal on or near a fuel tank around 7:32 a.m. when the fuel caught fire, causing severe first- and second- degree burns to more than 30 per cent of his body.
The man was stabilized on scene and during his transport to hospital.
He is currently in serious but stable condition.
Paramedics did not identify the victim or the gas station.
