A 24-year-old Bastard and South Burgess Township woman in a stolen ice cream truck led police on a brief chase before being stopped and charged with stealing the vehicle from a Perth gas station Thursday morning.
Officers with the OPP’s Lanark County Detachment were called around 9:30 a.m. after the truck full of frozen treats was stolen from the parking lot of Donaldson’s Shell Gas Station, where the driver was making deliveries.
The vehicle was spotted a short time later and stopped at a quarry pit east of Perth on Highway 7.
Samantha Whitteker, 24, was charged with vehicle theft, fleeing from police, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with an undertaking.
