An Edmonton homicide suspect on the run after a 31-year-old man was gunned down last year at a nightclub may be hiding in Ottawa, police say.

Bekri Mohamed shot and killed at the Papyrus Lounge at 11124 107 Ave. on Nov. 5, 2014.

Edmonton police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of 26-year-old Luqman Osman on second-degree murder and weapons charges.

Police made an appeal to the public Wednesday on the anniversary of Mohamed’s death for information that will lead them to Osman.

Osman, who is considered armed and dangerous, is described by police as a black man in his mid-20s, about six-foot-three with a medium build. He has a beard and visible scars on his neck.

Anyone with information can call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
