美国超速ticket 如何处理？

If you have received a traffic infraction, you may be eligible for a deferral. By successfully completing a deferral, the Court will not report your ticket to the Department of Licensing.

1. You may defer only one moving and one non-moving infraction every seven years.
2. The length of the deferral is one year.
3. To complete your deferral, you must pay an administrative fee and not commit a new traffic
   violation for one year.

Dismissals do not appear on your driving record. Deferrals, on the other hand, will appear on your record as an open case until the deferral period is over (1 year), but once the period is over, the case is dismissed and at that point, it will come off your record.

我也不幸周日在美国中北部吃到一张超速罚单，晚上高速路，70miles开到80多，那个猪头警察说激光秒到了88miles，罚单给开到90，说秒了之后还看到我加速，罚金$267。感觉太欺负人了，怪自己外地不小心，认栽。
在考虑是否联系当地的律师申诉一下，如果能和法官直接取得联系，也想试试。

得想想办法看能否把record取消掉，以后还有可能去那里上班。
后来搜了一下，那个州超速5miles的ticket都不少

我感觉是那25的区别。156没的跑，付另外加的25后如果一年不犯事儿，罚单清记录。

我不想交罚款，但是法庭又无法去参加，于是给法官发了一个邮件。
得到如下回复：

Defer the ticket --- this would cost $156 plus $25 for a total of $181. The ticket would then be deferred for one year and if you get no further violations within that one year period, the ticket will be dismissed and not show on your record.
