Ottawa police are asking the public to help locate Adil Omer, a man well-known to police, after a Nov. 21 shooting on a Vanier street.
Omer, 32, is described as a black male, six feet tall and 205 pounds. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous, and ask that the public not to approach him.
Omer is a suspect in the Nov. 21 shooting involving a suspected gang member, who was shot in the leg at 10:30 p.m. at Montreal Road and Bradley Street. The victim, who was shot with an automatic handgun, was not co-operating with police. The shooting was believed to be gang related, investigators said.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
