A brawl involving at least 12 men outside a Gatineau strip club overnight has left one person with serious head wounds and another in hospital, said Gatineau police.
The brawl began just after midnight early Sunday morning at Club Pigale located at 90 Greber Blvd, described on their website as a “gentlemen club” featuring 100 exotic dancers daily.
Sgt. Eric Simard of the Gatineau Police said the fight was between a group of clients and doormen just outside the club entrance, but they were not aware what instigated it. When police managed to separate the combatants, one man was left unconscious on the ground.
This man, who police said was 27-years-old and from Ottawa, was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face and head but in stable condition. He was still in hospital Sunday morning and would probably require treatment for at least another day, said Sgt. Simard.
Another man, identified as an employee of the club, was taken into custody but has not been charged. He is expected to be questioned on Sunday.
No weapons were used in the fight.
Police are continuing their investigation.
