Gatineau firefighters had to break into a burning residence early Boxing Day to save two sleeping occupants.
Fire services received a call just after 1 a.m. after flames were spotted at the roofline of a home at 103 Bagot St. in the Aylmer sector.
According to the fire service, the two residents were asleep and the firefighters had to break down the door and wake them up.
They were taken out and suffered no injuries. They are staying with neighbours.
The fire was said to be caused by an electrical problem. Damages were estimated at $75,000.
