The Ottawa fire department was called to a Vars property Monday afternoon after receiving several 911 calls reporting a garage fire that was beginning to extend to an adjoining house.
Firefighters said two occupants were injured, with one taken to hospital.
Crews were called to 2071 Devine Rd. just before 2 p.m. and could see smoke billowing from the structure, the fire department said.
The Salvation Army’s canteen vehicle was en route to the scene to provide support for emergency crews.
