Ottawa police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in the Dec. 9 robbery of a south end gas station.

Police say a man entered the service station in the 3400 block of Hawthorne Road at about 2:25 a.m., made himself a coffee and then approached the cashier. He told the teller he had a weapon and demanded cash.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

No weapon was ever seen. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, average height and possibly had a moustache. He was English-speaking and was last seen wearing a ski mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa police robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
