The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects that are believed to have been involved in a robbery on Halloween night.

According to police, at 10:05 p.m. a 17-year-old was walking along Longfields Drive near Woodroffe Avenue when he was accosted by a man who demanded the teen’s cellphone.

When the teen refused to hand over the phone, he was assaulted. Witnesses reported seeing a second suspect who participated in the attack.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He has since been released.

Police describe the first suspect as a black, between the ages of 18 and 20 and five feet 10 inches tall (178cm). He was wearing a black leather coat and a black baseball cap. The second suspect is described as having tanned skinned, also between 18 and 20 years of age with dark, “styled” hair. He was last seen wearing dark clothes and a baseball cap.

Police said their investigation recently turned up images of the suspects.

In these images, the two suspects are in the company of a third man that investigators have classified as a person of interest. He is described as black, between 18 and 20 and last seen wearing beige pants, a blue hooded sweatshirt and wearing a backpack.

All three man are urged to contact the Ottawa police robbery unit directly.
