Smiths Falls police are hunting for an accused murderer wanted for allegedly violating the conditions of his release.
Police said Clayton George Presley is potentially violent, particularly if he has been drinking alcohol. Police said beer stores, liquor stores and licensed establishments may be “points of interests” for Presley, who has contacts in Perth and British Columbia.
Presley, 58, was last seen at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in Carleton Place.
Presley was charged with second-degree murder in December 2013 following the death of 57-year-old Daryl Weedmark. Police were called to an apartment at 35 Kent St. after receiving reports of an unresponsive male.
Police alleged the victim and the accused were involved in a physical altercation inside the apartment that resulted in Weedmark’s death.
Presley is described as an aboriginal, six-feet tall, 225 lbs. with a large, distended abdomen. He has short dark hair and “Sue” tattooed on his left forearm.
He was wearing a Tough Duck work coat, blue jeans and work boots and may have a black toque.
