Police in Smiths Falls are looking for a man who stole more than $2,000 worth of razor blades from an area pharmacy last week.
Police said the suspect, between 25-30 years of age, entered the drug store shortly before closing time last Tuesday, Mar. 22.
He apparently stuffed the packages of disposable razors under a coat and fled.
He is described as being Caucasian with an average build. The man was last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket, and he had short dark hair.
The theft of razor blades from stores is far from a strange occurrence.
According to police in the U.S., the theft of razor blades has become a $1 billion U.S. business for “organized retail” criminals as they are easy to resell at flea markets, online or even on the street.
Smiths Falls police are asking anyone with information about the theft to call 613-283-0357.
