Gatineau police acting on an anonymous tip Wednesday arrested two people and seized of a large amount of marijuana.
At 5:10 p.m., police entered a home at 9 Rue des Rapides, near the intersection of Rue Saint-Louis and Boulevard la Vérendrye Ouest in Gatineau’s northeast area.
In total, police seized 74 marijuana plants, 2,033 grams of marijuana and 51 pounds of dried marijuana leaves, branches and plants.
A 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested.
They were released after questioning, with orders to appear in Quebec court on charges of possession of narcotics, possession with intent to traffic, and production of marijuana.
The two were not previously known to police.
