Emergency responders reporting to the scene of a fire at 1931 Peter Robinson Rd. in Carp at about 8:45 a.m. were met by significant flames and smoke billowing from the basement.
Firefighters were able to control the blaze quickly and confirmed they contained the blaze to the home’s basement.
One resident taken to hospital fore treatment of smoke inhalation.
There were no serious injuries reported as a result of the blaze.
A cause for the fire and damage estimates are not yet available.
An investigation continues.
