These were beauty creams that offered more than just smoother skin.
The Canada Border Services Agency said 1.2 kg of cocaine was seized after officers found the drug concealed in the creams that arrived at a courier processing centre near the Ottawa airport last month.
“The drugs were in a plastic bag and stuffed into the containers,” said CBSA spokesman Chris Kealey.
Kealey said the three bags of cocaine had been shipped from Aruba to an Ottawa address. Officers at Ottawa’s Cargo Centre searched the package after an ion scanner detected a trace amount of the drug.
The CBSA said the cocaine was turned over to the RCMP. No arrests have been made.
