A man who allegedly held up a Westboro pharmacy and demanded narcotics Wednesday night has been arrested and faces several robbery charges.

Police said at approximately 8:10 p.m. a man walked into a pharmacy along the 400 block of Richmond Road, walked behind the counter and made a demand for prescription drugs. The suspect then ran off with an undisclosed quantity of narcotics and fled the area on a bicycle. There were no injuries.

Officers learned the suspect fled across the Champlain Bridge. He was later located and arrested in Gatineau by Ottawa police, along the multi-use pathway that parallels the Ottawa River.

David Howard, 30 of Ottawa, is charged with robbery, wearing a disguise and two counts of breach of probation. He was set to appear in court Thursday.

Anyone with information with respect to this robbery, or any other robbery, is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
