Two men are facing a string of charges after a tow truck driver was beaten over the head with a tire iron and stabbed with the jagged end of a broken snow brush last month, police say.
The driver was filling up his truck at a gas bar in the area of Cyrville and Ogilvie roads May 24 when he got into a verbal dispute with two men.
The fight got physical and left the victim unconscious at the scene as the suspects’ vehicle took off, police say.
That vehicle was seized from a business in the 1500 block of Triole Street and two men were later arrested.
Husain Zaid, 26, and Abdi Anonug, 23, have been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and mischief. Both were released on their own recognizance after a court appearance.
