The latest round in Sen. Patrick Brazeau’s legal affairs took about three minutes in a Gatineau courtroom Tuesday before bring adjourned until the fall.
He faces one charge of refusing a breath test, laid in early April in L’Ange-Gardien, east of Gatineau.
The charge was laid in Gatineau court Tuesday, although Brazeau wasn’t in court. He has not entered a plea.
He was represented by veteran lawyer Gérard Larocque, who also handled his trial last year on assault and sex assault charges.
The sex assault charge was dropped by the Crown and Brazeau, 41, pleaded guilty to the assault charge. He got an unconditional discharge.
Larocque wouldn’t discuss the latest case as he left the court.
