The driver of a vehicle is dead after a single-car crash in rural west Ottawa on Friday morning.
Ottawa Fire Services received a call at 9:47 a.m. and responded to a vehicle that had rolled over multiple times while travelling along Galetta Side Road, said fire spokeswoman Danielle Cardinal. The vehicle came to rest in a corn field, Cardinal said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed Supt. Keith Buchanan with Ottawa Paramedic Service.
Ottawa Police Service is performing a grid-search of the area and investigating the crash.
Road closures along Galetta Side Road are in effect and motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
No other victims have been confirmed.
