Police are looking for witnesses and anyone who was wielding a cellphone during a fight in the ByWard Market early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the 100 block of York Street at about 2 a.m. after reports that several people were fighting. The fracas left one man badly hurt.
Police said they want to speak with people who saw what happened or captured the incident on video.
Anyone with information is asked to call central district investigator Det. Jo-Lynn Wellman at (613) 236-1222 ext. 5677. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477 or downloading the Ottawa Police app.
