The Ottawa Police Service is investigating after an overnight robbery in Vanier left a man with minor injuries.
According to police, three men approached the victim in the area of Montreal Road and Lacasse Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday night. The men demanded the victim turn over a number of personal items he had on his person. One of the suspects reportedly brandished a handgun. A fight broke out, with the victim attacking the armed suspect. During the struggle, the weapon discharged and hit the victim.
The victim received a minor injury consistent with a pellet gun. He was taken to hospital, treated and released with minor injuries.
Police have limited descriptions of the suspects in the robbery. They are described as three black males, in their mid-20s.
