Police have made two arrests in the death of a Hawkesbury woman whose body was discovered wrapped in a tarp in a remote area of the Laurentians, police confirmed Friday.
The body of Marielle Portelance was discovered on July 29 in an isolated area of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, across the Ottawa River from her Hawkesbury home.
Her death was treated as suspicious, and ruled a homicide following an autopsy.
On Friday, Sûreté du Québec confirmed police have arrested a 39-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man in connection with the homicide.
The two were due to appear in court in St-Jerome Friday, where they were to be formally charged.
Police said their names are expected to be made public following the court appearance.
More to come.
