The seventh edition of The Ride has raised $1.31 million for cancer research, organizers announced Sunday afternoon.
This year’s fundraising efforts have brought the total raised to more than $11.3 million since the first Ottawa event in 2010.
The Ottawa Hospital Foundation’s premier cycling fundraiser for cancer research saw hundreds of participants start either a 50-kilometre closed route or the 108-km trek at Tunney’s Pasture early Sunday morning.
A celebratory barbecue awaited all participants at the finish line.
