Ottawa police charged two people Friday with homicide-related offences after the shooting death of Jacob Thompson.
Thompson, 40, was shot on Elmira Drive, near Baxter Road in the city’s west end on Saturday.
Police have revealed little about the shooting, saying only that Thompson was found suffering from a gunshot wound at his Elmira Drive home around 2 a.m. He died later in hospital.
Residents of a neighbouring rowhouse, who declined to give their names, said they heard an altercation and raised voices just before shots were fired. One neighbour said he heard one shot, while another reported two shots fired.
Police have charged Brianna Kennedy of Ottawa, 20, with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.
Geneva Kennedy of Ottawa, 39, is also charged with one count of accessory of the fact to murder and one count of obstructing police.
