Ottawa Police are hoping the public can help them find a man they allege tried to rob a bank more than a month ago, but didn’t get any money.

It was just before noon on Aug. 22 when a lone man walked into a bank near 1400 Richmond Road and handed a teller a note demanding cash.

There was a delay getting the cash, and the man left empty-handed, police said. No one was hurt.

He’s described as black, between five feet two inches and five feet four inches, and skinny. He wore sunglasses, a grey hooded shirt with NIKE written on the front, a camouflage baseball cap, a black jacket, black gloves and beige boots.

Anyone with information about this robbery or others is asked to call the robbery unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477, or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
