Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor Allan Hubley invite residents, innovation and entrepreneurship students, businesses and organizations to explore the many innovative technologies, programs and services developed by many entrepreneurs and start-ups at the inaugural Innovation Trade Show at City Hall’s Jean Pigott Place on Monday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The trade show is part of the City’s Innovation Pilot Program, which partners entrepreneurs and start-ups with relevant City departments for the purpose of product or technology testing. It provides a real-life testing environment for entrepreneurs before their products and services hit the commercial market, while enhancing the delivery of City programs and services to residents.
The first year of the pilot program attracted more than 70 applications, with eight programs being undertaken and more expected to be finalized before 2017. The Innovation Trade Show will showcase the unique and innovative talents of the many start-ups and businesses that have applied to the pilot program.
Date: Monday, October 17
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. .
