If you had plans to be out and about Friday and Saturday — such as at Friday night’s crucial Redblacks game against the Hamilton TigerCats — you’d better factor heavy-duty rain gear into your plans.

The capital region is under a rainfall warning right through until Sunday. About 10-20 millimetres of rain is expected to fall today.

Couple this with brisk winds out of the north at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, and you might not have a pleasant experience at the game or anywhere else outdoors.

Temperatures are expected to be about 9 C all day and Friday night’s low is expected to be about 5 C.

Conditions should be the same Saturday and, in all, we could see up to 50 millimetres of precipitation before things clear up on Sunday, Environment Canada warns.

Saturday’s daytime temperature is expected to be about 4 C.

Things are expected to be even more serious in Eastern Ontario and regions along the St. Lawrence River, where 100 mm of rain could fall before the storm winds through.

The sun is expected to reappear sometime Sunday, with a mixture of sun and cloud and high of 11 C.
