Ottawa Fire Services says a family of four is homeless following a brief, but intense fire in the home in Metcalfe Thursday afternoon.
Responders were called to a kitchen fire shortly after 3 p.m. at a two-storey home on Eldo Street and had the fire under control in less than an hour.
There were no injuries, but the fire caused about $60,000 in damages and was no longer habitable, firefighters said.
Metcalfe is about 35 kilometres from downtown Ottawa.
