Get your pinky fingers ready, there will be plenty of wishbones to break this weekend.

A free Christmas Eve dinner will be offered Saturday afternoon at several locations throughout the city.

Operation Big Turkey will be serving a traditional turkey dinner as well as a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant friendly lasagna at the Overbrook Community Centre, Carling Recreation Centre, Ron Kolbus Centre, Albion-Heatherington Recreation Centre, and Jack Purcell Community Centre on Saturday, Dec. 24.

Prepared by Algonquin College’s School of Hospitality and Tourism, the dinner fed more than 2,000 people last Christmas, and Operation Big Turkey hoping to surpass that number this weekend.

Started in 2004, Operation Big Turkey is a non-affiliated group of more than 200 volunteers that serves people as they come, with no need for reservations.
