A taxi driver has been ticketed for making an unsafe lane change after his cab carrying four passengers flipped on Hwy. 7 west of Perth in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
First responders had to free the passengers and driver after finding the Buick upside down in the south ditch just east of Glen Tay Road around 3:30 a.m.
The occupants were taken to hospital and released, with two suffering minor injuries.
The cab hit a hydro pole but the downed wires weren’t power cables.
David Hunt, 68, was charged with unsafe lane change under the Highway Traffic Act.
