A 20-year-old man faces an attempted murder charge in connection with a stabbing on Rideau Street last weekend.
Police say Amel Geffrard surrendered Thursday night at police headquarters on Elgin Street. Police had issued a security camera image of a suspect in the attack earlier in the week and made a public appeal for help.
A 17-year-old youth was stabbed as he walked on Rideau Street at about 3:45 p.m. on April 1. He was taken to hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Geffrard was to appear in court Friday on charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence.
