Heads were turning and passersby picked up the pace Wednesday morning as emergency first responders roared up to the U.S. Embassy on Sussex Drive.
Remain calm. It was only a drill.
In an effort to make the exercize as true to life as possible, officials at the U.S. Embassy on Sussex Drive co-ordinated with Ottawa firefighters, paramedics and police to conduct a fire drill.
A spokesman with the embassy said the drill is a regular occurrence, however he wouldn’t specify the intervals on which the embassy conducts the evacuation practice.
Passersby watched as ambulances, fire trucks and police descended on the iconic building.
The emergency responders didn’t stay long, according to officials.
Ottawa fire and paramedic vehicles pulled in to the U.s. Embassy on Sussex Drive Wednesday for a realistic looking fire drill.
