An Eastern Ontario OPP officer has been arrested and charged with criminal harassment and two counts of sexual assault in an ongoing “domestic” investigation by the force’s professional standards bureau.
The OPP says it isn’t releasing the name of the 39-year-old officer or the location of a Wednesday court appearance because it could identify the complainant, leading to “re-victimization.”
Investigators say that the incidents are alleged to have occurred while the officer was off duty.
The 16-year veteran of the force was released on bail and suspended from duty with pay as set out in the province’s Police Services Act.
