Boaters, start your engines, Rideau Canal to open on Friday

Parks Canada says the Rideau Canal will be fully open on Friday for boaters.

Previously, on May 26, some lock stations were opened, but the Ottawa locks remained closed. Boating season was delayed a week due to high water.

Parks Canada says water levels and flows still remain high. It also cautions users that there may be intermittent closures to protect boater safety.
