Actually you will never have all your rooms facing the ideal direction throughout the day, so the key is to have your most frequent used rooms to get enough sunlight (and avoid too much) when you use them most often.
People seldom stay at their houses the whole day. Normally they will use kitchens, dining rooms, and family rooms most in late afternoon. As I said, SW facing is probably the best. Other facings should be ranked as: S, W, NW or SE, N or E, ... NE is the worst.
