Ottawa police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify a suspect sought wanted in connection with a recent bank robbery.
On Monday, a man entered a bank near the intersection of Main Street and Hawthorne Avenue in Old Ottawa East and handed a teller a note demanding cash.
The man was given an undisclosed quantity of money before fleeing the premises.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
The man is described as being Caucasian, in his 40s, about five feet seven inches ( 170 cm) tall, with a moustache.
He was wearing glasses, dark pants and a yellow construction helmet and a yellow-green safety vest.
Anyone with information is asked to Ottawa police robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
