Concert-goers had the blues on Friday night when Bluesfest organizers announced via Twitter that the festival would not resume that night’s shows due to weather.

At 10 p.m., the 10-day festival’s Twitter account announced shows had been postponed.

These tweets followed reports of rain and lightning rolling into Ottawa around 9 p.m.

At the start of the bad weather, organizers said shows were being put on hold until the weather was safe.

Shortly afterward, shows resumed.

A Citizen reporter at the LeBreton Flats festival tweeted that the last musical guest on the City Stage for the night, LiVE, was only a few songs into their performance before the big screens on the stage advised people to exit the grounds due to weather.

UPDATE: Due to weather, shows tonight will not be resuming.
