An investigation is underway after a smoky stovetop fire prompted the evacuation of an 11-storey apartment building in Gatineau Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the building at about noon after several callers reported heavy smoke visible from a sixth floor apartment.
First responders helped about 50 people leave the building while commencing an attack on the fire.
The blaze was under control about 25 minutes later.
Most of the residents were able to return to their apartments. There were no injuries.
