Quebec police are asking for assistance in the case of an Ottawa man who was convicted of child pornography charges and was arrested last year on similar charges.
The Sûreté du Québec’s internet sexual exploitation investigation team, in collaboration with the Ottawa police and other agencies arrested David Sharpe, 37, at a home on Prince of Wales Drive in December 2016 for allegedly making, possessing and distributing child pornography.
This investigation began with information received from the Queensland Police Service in Australia.
He remains custody for further legal proceedings.
In a release, police said Sharpe has been convicted in Quebec and Ontario of several counts related to the possession, distribution, and production of child pornography. He also allegedly committed various sexual offenses against children between 2008 and 2016, primarily in the Ormstown and Huntingdon, Que. and areas in Ontario.
Police believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information about this case should contact the Sûreté du Québec criminal intelligence unit at 1-800-659-4264.
