A 45-year-old man and 24-year-old woman are facing charges including possession of the proceeds of crime and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking following an Ottawa Police Service drug unit raid of a marijuana dispensary, police announced late Saturday.
A media release said the raid of the outlet at 233 Armstrong St., near Parkdale Avenue, had occurred on Friday.
Seized by police were an unspecified quantity of marijuana, THC concentrate, edibles in various forms and cash, the media release added.
The two individuals arrested were released from custody on promises to appear in court.
“We continue to stress that there is no ‘grey area’ when it comes to storefront marijuana dispensaries,” Ottawa Police /Sgt Rick Carey said in the statement. “They are and will continue to be illegal operations. We will investigate dispensaries as complaints come forward.”
