One person is dead after a collision on Saturday in the Whitewater Region, about an hour west of Ottawa, the Ontario Provincial Police said Tuesday.
Police said two vehicles collided head-on while travelling along Beachburg Road just east of Pappin Road in the Township of Whitewater Region around 11 a.m. According to police, the driver of the pickup truck was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The 38-year-old driver of the car and an 11-year-old passenger were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police have identified the truck’s driver as Harold Carson Alport, 73, of Whitewater Region.
No further details about the crash have been released. An investigation into what caused the head-on collision is still ongoing.
