The parliamentary precinct will offer fighter jet flybys and artillery fire to mark Remembrance Day Saturday.

The Royal Canadian Air Force 3 Wing from Bagotville, Que. will send a pair of CF-18 Hornets for flyovers.

The first pass is at 11:05 a.m. over the National War Memorial on Wellington Street, at the main site for the proceedings. They will then soar over Beechwood Cemetery and finally, fly over the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 632 in Orléans.

Meanwhile, the 30th Field Artillery Regiment will fire blank rounds from their C3 howitzer guns at three locations: at 11 a.m. behind east block to mark the beginning and end of two minutes of silence, as well as a 21-gun salute, firing once a minute. Also at 11 a.m., the regiment will be fired at Beechwood Cemetery, again to mark the two minutes of silence, and at 1:10 p.m., two blank rounds will be fired at the National Artillery Monument on Green Island.

Ottawa police warned drivers to expect delays along Elgin Street as city crews begin setting up for Saturday’s ceremonies.
