The Ottawa Crown Attorney’s office has dropped all charges against a Carleton Place man who was arrested in 2014 in an online child-luring case.
As part of an investigation involving the Ottawa Police Service’s internet child exploitation unit, an officer posed as a teen girl on a social media site. A man contacted the officer on the weekend and arranged a meeting for an ostensible sexual encounter. Police arrested him when he showed up at the meeting place.
Collin S. Monette was accused of two counts of computer contact with a person under 18 for a sexual purpose, and two counts of computer contact with a person under 16.
